1. Our Commitment

Thank you for supporting the charitable mission of Love Unites.

Love Unites is the public-facing identity being developed by the organization formerly known as Latinos Unidos Fundación Inc., also known as LU Foundation. Your generosity helps support charitable initiatives focused on education, healthcare, empowerment, and humanitarian assistance.

We value the trust donors place in our organization and aim to provide clear information about contributions and payment processing.

2. All Donations Are Generally Final

All voluntary donations are final and generally non-refundable once processed.

When you submit a donation, you authorize the payment for the amount and frequency displayed during checkout. Please review your selection carefully before completing your contribution.

Because donations are intended to support charitable activities, we generally do not refund contributions simply because a donor changes their mind, no longer wishes to support an initiative, or later changes their personal circumstances.

This policy applies to one-time and recurring donations, subject to the provisions below and applicable law.

3. Duplicate Charges and Processing Errors

If you believe you were charged more than once for the same donation or that a payment was processed incorrectly, please contact us promptly.

Include your name, the date of the transaction, the amount, and any available transaction reference. For your protection, do not send your full payment-card number or security code by email.

We will review the available transaction information and determine the appropriate action. If a duplicate charge or processing error is verified, we may arrange an appropriate correction or refund, subject to the payment provider’s procedures and applicable law.

4. Unauthorized Transactions

If you believe a donation was made without your authorization, contact your card issuer or payment provider promptly and notify us using the contact details below.

We will review information reasonably available to us and cooperate with appropriate investigations as required.

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights or remedies that apply under law to unauthorized transactions.

5. Recurring Donations

If recurring donations are offered, the amount and frequency will be shown during checkout.

You may request cancellation of future recurring donations by contacting us or using the cancellation method provided by the donation platform, where available.

Please allow reasonable processing time for a cancellation request. A payment that has already been processed or submitted for processing may not be cancellable. We will review any concerns about payments made after a cancellation request in light of the timing, payment provider procedures, and applicable law.

Cancellation of future recurring payments does not automatically refund previous donations.

6. Designated Donations

If a donation is made for a particular program or purpose, we will handle it consistently with the designation accepted by the organization and applicable law.

If circumstances change so that a designated purpose cannot reasonably be fulfilled, the organization will determine the appropriate lawful course of action, taking account of the donor’s stated intent, any applicable restrictions, and relevant legal requirements.

We do not guarantee that a particular program will continue indefinitely or that a specific outcome will result from a contribution.

7. Payment Statements and Organization Name

During the transition to Love Unites, your card or bank statement may show a charge under one of the following names:

  • Latinos Unidos Fundación Inc.
  • LU Foundation
  • Love Unites, if the payment provider’s descriptor has been configured accordingly.

The name shown depends on the payment provider’s current configuration. The name on your statement may therefore differ from the public-facing name displayed on our website.

Please retain your donation confirmation. If you do not recognize a charge, contact us and your payment provider as appropriate.

8. Donation Receipts and Tax Information

A transaction confirmation acknowledges that a payment was submitted or processed; it does not, by itself, establish that the contribution is tax-deductible.

We are working to confirm our current tax status. Until eligibility has been verified, we do not represent donations as tax-deductible.

Any receipt or tax-related statement will reflect the organization’s verified status and applicable requirements. Donors should consult their own tax adviser for guidance about their circumstances.
